The Sails of Saint Tropez
Considered one of the beautiful sailing races ‘The Sails of Saint Tropez’ runs for 2 weeks from the end of September to the beginning of October. Regattas are scheduled over the two weeks and over 300 modern and classic boats grace the water, it’s an incredible sight and definitely worth a visit. The first week of races is for boats of 20 metres and the last week for those impressive maxi yachts that sail the sea. If the weather allows you may get a chance to participate in the race too, it’s for both beginners and professionals alike and prizes are presented at the end of each week.
ROC D’AZUR
The Roc D’Azur is a large European autumn event and competition around mountain biking. It takes place in October and is for both amateurs and professional mountain bikers, Established in 1984 it’s an established event and had become a benchmark in the french and European mountain biking scene. It’s a very popular show that has over 100,000 visitors flocking to Fréjus a beautiful provincial town with lots of cultural discoveries. The Roc d’Azur has 20,000 participants and the event will transport you into the beautiful world of mountain biking for a good time to be had by all!
Ironman Nice
Not for the fainthearted Ironman Nice is part of one of the most legendary competitions in the world of sport. This gruelling triathlon race takes place between the beautiful french mountains and sea and provides the most exquisite backdrops of the Côte d’Azur for this unique competition. It takes place in September and has swimming, cycling and running as part of the event. With a unique atmosphere that runs over 3days Ironman Nice is a fantastic event to either take part in (if you’re brave enough) or spectate. The village has lots of other activities that surround the event too, but the pièce de résistance is the crowning of the winners at the closing ceremony. The title itself is one of the most respected in the sports community.
